The history of Palasari Parish began on September 15, 1940, when Father Simon Buis SVD led 18 Catholic families from the Holy Trinity Parish in Tuka and 6 families from Saint Mary Queen Parish in Gumbrih in their migration to West Bali, now known as Desa Palasari. Father Simon Buis was the pioneer of Palasari Parish and lived with the settlers until 1949.
Father Blanken SVD continued the construction of the Palasari church, which was consecrated on December 13, 1958, by Bishop Albers, O.Carm. of Malang. The church was named in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. From 1992 to 1994, the church underwent physical renovations under the leadership of Father Yosef Wora, SVD.
Saint Mary Queen Parish Gumbrih, part of the Roman Catholic Church in the Diocese of Denpasar, is located in Desa Gumbrih, Pekutatan District, Jembrana Regency, Bali. The Church of Saint Mary Queen was constructed starting in 1950 by Father Nobert Shadeg SVD and was blessed on March 5, 1961, by the Apostolic Prefect of Denpasar, Mgr. Hermens.
Saint Francis Xavier Church has a rich history that began with the efforts of Father Heyne, SVD, in 1967, followed by Father Blanken in 1968. In 1974, Father Anibal Operandi, SVD, established the Saint Francis Xavier mission, and the construction of the new church was completed in 1984 under Father Cor Smith, SVD.
Saint Francis Xavier Church impresses visitors with its unique architecture, blending Balinese styles.
