For three days, 42 women from the Warakawuri (Widows' Fellowship) of Ciputat Parish embarked on a pilgrimage and recreation trip to Palembang, guided by Fr. Susilo Wijoyo. The journey began with prayers at Gua Maria Ngison Nando in Lampung, setting the tone for a spiritually fulfilling trip.
The group continued their pilgrimage with the Jubilee pilgrimage and Stations of the Cross at the Via Crucis Prayer Garden and the Palembang Cathedral. These sacred activities provided moments of deep reflection and spiritual growth, reinforcing their bond as a community of faith.
Alongside their spiritual activities, the group also explored Palembang's tourist attractions, including Kemaro Island and the Balaputradewa State Museum. The blend of spiritual enrichment and leisure allowed the participants to enjoy a well-rounded and memorable experience.
A group of 170 women from Majlis Ta'lim Al Mahbubiyah in South Jakarta embarked on a spiritual journey to Bandung, with their visit centered around the magnificent Al-Jabbar Grand Mosque. Arriving just before the Maghrib call to prayer, the participants found peace and solace in the mosque's serene atmosphere, engaging in collective prayer and reflection.
Before Maghrib, the group also explored the Rasulullah Gallery, where they gained a deeper understanding of the development of Islam, especially its influence in West Java. The gallery provided a rich historical perspective, offering insights into the life of Prophet Muhammad and significant moments in Islamic history that shaped the region.
The journey was a spiritually enriching experience, strengthening the participants' connection to their faith. As they left Bandung, the impact of their prayers and newfound knowledge lingered, marking a meaningful chapter in their religious journey together.
A total of 30 participants from the Ignatius Loyola community of Ciputat Parish took part in the Stations of the Cross at Gua Maria Kaliori, located in the Diocese of Purwokerto. Set in a serene teak forest, Gua Maria Kaliori provided a peaceful setting for the spiritual journey, which concluded with a thanksgiving Mass led by Fr. Patrick Slamet Widodo, Pr.
On the second day, November 3, 2024, the group continued their pilgrimage to Gua Maria Melung. The calming sounds of the nearby river created a tranquil atmosphere, enhancing the prayerful experience and allowing the participants to reflect deeply on their faith.
This spiritual journey not only allowed the group to deepen their connection with God but also strengthened their sense of community. The experience left them with a renewed sense of gratitude and spiritual fulfillment.
As part of the Jubilee Year, Catholic churches worldwide opened their Porta Sancta or Holy Doors, marking a significant aspect of the Jubilee celebration. The Church invited the faithful to receive God's grace in a special way, with passing through the Holy Door symbolizing an inner journey of conversion and spiritual renewal.
The St. Gregory community of Ciputat Parish joined in this sacred pilgrimage, visiting four designated churches in the Diocese of Bandung. This journey allowed them to experience the profound meaning of the Holy Doors, deepening their faith and connection to the Church's rich tradition.
